by design. RAM is SO-DIMM to 192 GB. Suspend on a desktop-replacement with a 4090 is the usual NVIDIA caveat, and few people sleep a machine like this anyway. It is a portable workstation, not a laptop, the 3.3 kg and 3-hour battery make that plain.

Fedora with RPM Fusion akmod-nvidia handles the 4090 fine. You give up System76's driver-switching polish but the hardware is standard.
