2020

Linux compatibility, per distro
- Ubuntu LTS Out of the box
- Wi-Fi : works
- Bluetooth : works
- Fingerprint : needs tweak
- Webcam : works
- Audio : works
- Suspend : needs tweak
Dell sold this as a Developer Edition with Ubuntu, so the platform is well covered. The webcam is a plain UVC camera, not the IPU6 MIPI sensor that breaks the later Alder Lake XPS, so video calls work in any browser.

Killer AX1650 Wi-Fi pairs on recent kernels. The Goodix fingerprint reader needs the Dell-and-Goodix libfprint fork to enrol. s2idle is the only sleep state, so a closed lid still drains the 52 Wh pack over a day.

Same clean Ice Lake story as Ubuntu. The fingerprint reader is the only fiddly part because mainline libfprint did not pick up the Goodix sensor for a while.

s2idle standby drain is the usual XPS caveat.
